I've been out of the loop for a while. Just noticed this thing with Phlump today. It seems rather humorous. Sort of like the seti stuff that went on with guru a long time back (though I don't recall any official challenge then).
Anyway...I'm #3 on Ars Technica Team Beef Roast (though way behind Phlump), and every single one of my 6 million blocks has been done on dual G4 500s...
The machines are in a different state from me though, so they're out of my hands.
I did give this team some blocks when it first started though.
