[Jan 23 13:24:05 UTC] Automatic processor type detection found
a PowerPC 7400 (G4) processor.
[Jan 23 13:24:05 UTC] RC5: using core #4 (crunch-vec).
[Jan 23 13:24:12 UTC] Connected to rc5.macnn.com:2064...
[Jan 23 13:24:13 UTC] The perproxy says: have run out of RC5 work.
[Jan 23 13:28:33 UTC] RC5: Sent 241 packets (841.00 stats units) to server.
[Jan 23 13:28:33 UTC] Connection closed.
[Jan 23 13:28:33 UTC] Input buffers are full (or projects are closed).
No fetch required.
did someone crack the key or are the servers messed up?

I've been wondering that too. I received the "out of work" message, but nothing about input buffers being full, or project completed. Nothing on the distributed.net web page indicates the rc5 is over. I've been crunching random packets since about 6am, East Coast time, and I think the problem goes back even further, to 8pm, East Coast time yesterday.

My most recent run on RC5 :

[Jan 23 14:13:17 UTC] Connected to rc5.macnn.com:2064...
[Jan 23 14:13:17 UTC] The perproxy says: "Welcome to the Team MacNN Proxy
Server"
[Jan 23 14:13:17 UTC] Refreshed project state data from server. (cached)
[Jan 23 14:13:17 UTC] RC5: Sent 1 packet (1.00 stats units) to server.
[Jan 23 14:13:17 UTC] Connection closed.
[Jan 23 14:13:17 UTC] RC5: Loaded random F438CE0F:E0000000:1*2^28
[Jan 23 14:13:17 UTC] RC5: Summary: 15 packets (15.00 stats units)
0.03:04:10.96 - [363,803 keys/s]
[Jan 23 14:13:17 UTC] RC5: 0 packets remain in buff-in.rc5
[Jan 23 14:13:17 UTC] RC5: 0 packets are in buff-out.rc5
.....10%.....20%.....30%.....40%.....50%.....60%.. .

I think the only reason I noticed this is that I check once a day to see how I am doing and the stats run indicated I completed only 48 blocks. This seemed awfully low to me, since I have been averaging >200 blocks a day recently.

So I'll be crunching random packets until I hear otherwise. I did reboot once last night, but that didn't solve the problem.

Agreed. I dropped from a steady 6,500 - 7,000 units to just over 2,000 yesterday...

Jeez, and I just brought my 500DP back into service after loading up in Ubero over the last 2 weeks or so!

Cheers.

On a side note, did you happen to check out the last few days on Top Daily Performers???
http://stats.distributed.net/rc5-64/...php3?id=371555

This guy crunched close to 1.3 *million* blocks yesterday!!!

Not sure how he managed to ramp up quite so quickly, but he went from a lowly 10,000 blocks/day to 1.3 million in about 12 days!

In awe...

Sorry about that.
I was doing a ton of changes to my server, and somehow the startup script for the proxy failed.

I'm manually running it now, and I'll try figuring out what went wrong later today.

Edit: oh yeah, it has work again

Thanks for getting to it so Quickly Scott. None of my machines had actually run out of packets but I like to do a reload before going to bed.

My proxy server had 57000 buffered blocks. rc5.macnn.com took every one of those and kept asking for more. And it appears that I've drained the dnet proxy!!!

Don't worry though, there are plenty of blocks now

Also, no one lost blocks. They just weren't sent in to the master servers. Tomorrow all proxy users will have a good day

Scott,

Cool! I figured that something had happened along the way... any chance of rewarding all of us with a 1+ million bonus day?

I'm not rewarding anyone with anything.
You'll just have 2 days of blocks dumped.

It'll be up tonight.
Sorry about that, the server had some changes made, and the proxy was killed in the process.
