After a few months away from seti crunching, I reinstalled it (version 3.03 for Mac). On my B/W 400 with 600+ ram under OS9 using an older version of setiathome client (cannot remember the version no.) I was getting, at best, 7.5 hours per WU, now it is heading for over 13 hours (under X and 9, I tried both). I'm running the same setup as before (i.e not showing the colourful screen) and was just wondering if during my break from seti whether the software had changed or was doing something different now.

Cheers

with each new release of the seti client, berkeley adds new tests for it to compute therefore slowing it down. Part of the reason they did this was because they had a big bandwidth problem awhile back.

so, no, you're not doing anything wrong. It's just that seti is computing extra tests on the unit.
