In 4 days, I will be crunching with a Dual Ghz, 1.5 gigs of RAM. This thing will smoke.
Am I still here?

Well, my roommate has a dual 500MHz G4 Tower. He gets around 8Mkeys/sec. So, a dualie should get around 16(!).

You can pull 16+ out of a dual 800. So the dual 1Ghz should give you 20. Maybe more, I don't know if the new cache thing will make a difference for this?

Hm. 20Mkeys/sec....kind of makes my iBook600 look pathetic, since I only get 1/10 of that, at the very best.

About your signature:

"Dual 867/17" LCD/Life is Good!"

Dual 867? Did you overclock your dualie 800 or didja make a typo?

(Also, "Mmmmm, yeaaaaahhh... I'm gonna need to have you come in on Saturday, mkay?" keeping with the Office Space theme )

My Pismo 400 looks extremely pathetic when put up next to these modern Mac beasts with a lousy 1.2mkeys/sec... and that's only when other processor hungry applications aren't running. Oh well.

About the sig, it's not a typo. I did overclock it a few months back to a Dual 867. Gives me a few more blocks in RC5. I can run about 17.4MKeys/sec

small dog has new/refurbs for $24XX with free Applecare thrown in. Subtract 250 from $2450 (I forget the exact number) and your machine is worth about $2200 or so, ignoring extra ram and such.

My dual gig is on order....
