With time and many new members, we are now in the top 300 teams, up from around 850. Folding team ranks will be practical when we break into the Top 100, interteam data does not seem to be readily available for teams below that rank.

As our stats history develops for this project, I'm steadily turning on the stats functions for longer time periods. Additional pages will appear over time.

Actually, there is interteam data available-
http://statsman.org/folding2stats/html/16.html

If you want to see how you rate against other Mac teams- you are currently #2 and moving closer to #1- http://12.233.82.128/macaddict_4_life/stats.pphp

Let the fun begin

Thanks for the info. I was looking for something like that.

The statsman.org stats are actually provided by the Ars Technica stats guru, not the official project. He is doubtless doing it by tracking every single F@H team.

We do not have a dedicated server of our own to do that, and I would rather not have our stats become dependent on another team's stats services. They are interesting, but I'll wait on our own ranks until we break into the official Top 100 listing.

The macaddict4life page is more interesting, they are just tracking other mac teams. It makes for a handy list of our competitors.

Yes, it is definitely more interesting to see our other mac competitors. I am sure that once we break the magic 100 mark, you will do the same great job you have always done with team stats. We aren't too far off of that mark in folding. I think the team is at 120 right now. That will be my next project after we get Ubero over the top. Speaking of which, I have to get my clients cranked back up. Been having some minor problems on my end, on top of the erratic server feed this AM for Ubero, so was off line on that most the day while at work. Will see what I can pump out with what is left of the day.

If we take too long to break into the Top 100 (where I will have interteam data available from the project), I'll set up a special Mac-rank table for Folding, with the usual intercept analysis.

Folding ranks code is sitting incomplete at the moment while I write our missing Folding install pages. The GUI page is up now, the CLI will hopefully be done later tonight or tomorrow.

The GUI page is helpful. I learned a few things about how the client files are organized.

Our Folding Ranks are up now, in the usual place. They look greener than RC5.

ps - there are 2 Mac teams ahead of us, that need to be nailed.

Ramp it up and bring it on!

just fyi- some of you probably already know, but I fold for one of those teams.
But I'm _not_ here to stir trouble.

I'm actually here to help (when I can) and get ideas.

If the various Mac Teams ramp up on folding, we get good competition (which is fun), we get lots of Mac Teams in the top 100 (showing the Evil Empire that no, we WON'T go away, and in a project like folding- we do the world some good.

Maybe even find a way to treat or prevent or reduce the affects of Alzheimers.

If that's not a reason to use spare cpu cycles, I don't know what is!

'course car wax that stays forever would be nice too

A question for you Folding Vets. Is there a dramatic difference in performance between the CLI client or running the GUI client hidden? My initial tests didn't show any real difference, but it is hard to determine with only a couple of units.

Both clients use the exact same crunching core. If the GUI display is Docked, or not turned on, they should take the same amount of time.

I did not notice any speed difference while exploring the clients either. But to be honest, I didn't try to benchmark.
