The thing is we at the Mac Observer Team SETI have got to increase our production or Macnn is going to stomp us. Oh well it would be cool to have a Mac discover E.T. anyway you look at it.

If Mac Observer and Mac NN and Team MacAddict were one seti team- then maybe Lamb Chop would have something to worry about

Get over it, it isn't happening.

Yeah, but it would be a lot less fun.

Asking our team to commit collective suicide seems impolite.

Whoa-
I was suggesting nothing of the sort.
I didn't suggest any team commit suicide.
Sorry if it was taken that way.

We could ask them to join us…
There's no real advantage to a team 'merger'. Inactive members can't just simply be moved to another team, so they'd be lost in the 'merger'.
In addition, who gets control of message boards (like this one)? Do you allow someone in as a moderator on your board just because of a 'merger', when you have no other knowledge of the person? If I wanted to deal with a potential security hole like that, I'd use Mega$haft.
Besides, if Berkeley allowed it, how many teams would throw in with LambChop if they could? Likely enough to outweigh any gains we'd make in consolidating MacOS teams.
Our best bet for new members is via spots on MacNN and our personal friends.

If you put a bullseye on yourself, don't be surprised when someone takes a shot at you.
