I've stuck up some new interteam Ranks graphs, for SETI, RC5, and Ubero. They are below the Advanced Ranks pages for each project.

SETI
RC5
Ubero

They show Total units, Daily production, and weekly Active members for nearby teams in each project. All in all, there is a lot of data.

Some feedback, please. Is there too much data? Instead of showing all the teams in the tables, should I limit it to the 10-12 nearest teams? Alternatively, the graphs could become larger, though this would be a problem for small monitors. Blowing up the graphs would separate the close lines quite a bit.

Other problems ... the points where everything drops to zero on Daily production / Active members means a dead stats day, or we were not tracking that team at the time. I can partly fix that by not drawing lines that have a zero point.

Anything else? Comments? The new graphs will get called out in the news when they are "done".

I can't keep track of the teams graphically like that. All the data runs into one big blur. Maybe fewer teams to graphically tracked. I know it would save the graph's constructor a lot of work. You'll want some other opinions on this as well. I can only distinguish about 30 different colors, which may be leading to my difficulty with the graph.

Zero-data days can also be indicated by texting "No data" vertically on the vertical axis for that day, then lining between the day before and the day after the zero-data day, but breaking the lines just before and just after the zero-data day's axis.

My 2¢.

WAY too many lines. I would do the five above and five below (except for Ubero, of course ) to keep the graphs clean.

I agree with Tigger on the "no data" idea, but I doubt it's possible. The downward spikes...just look 'weird' and out of place.

yeah, on the SETI graphs, way too much info. I'd do even less than 5. Maybe 3.

good job though. I like graphs....numbers are harder for me to follow and see trends. thats why i like graphs

I've made some adjustments, the zero points do not show now. The line count was supposed to be cut to 12 other teams (down from up to 24), but didn't seem to take. I'll work on that more later.

Tigerabbit, these graphs use up to 18 different line colors. After that, they recycle the colors with half-width lines.

Note, SETI rank graphs are generated at a different time, so they are not updated yet.

RC5 and Ubero graphs updated. Line count is now 5 above, 5 below as possible. Date label for each day will now show "No Data" if all data on that graph is blank for the day. Note that the text label does not appear for every day in every graph, it depends on datapoint density.

The idea for broken connecting lines across data gaps is interesting, but might be hard to implement. For example, it would have to allow for multiple dead days in a row. On Jan 1, 2002, RC5 stats went dead for almost a week. I'll keep thinking about it.

SETI graphs will update in about 10 hours, after the SETI Ranks run for today.

I'm an idiot. After resetting my system clock to yesterday, I reran the seti code, and have updated the graphs.

Several more bugs are fixed as well.

Dead stats are now crossed over with half-thickness lines. This will help indicate that no data was available, since the label below does not always appear.

A few other tweaks have taken place as well, most notably that Rate graphs now cover the same number of days as the other two graphs.

Comments, complaints? If the graphs are "done", then it's time for me to move back to page content. A bunch of resource pages are missing for Ubero and Folding, some updates are needed on SETI and RC5.

personally, i still think the SETI graphs are too much and i would cut them down to 3 teams on either side.

but hey, you're the boss. do what you want since i compile my own graphs,....
