With the release of a working F@H 3.0 client, I was curious as to when genome@home's integration would be complete.

Straight from the <a href="http://genomeathome.stanford.edu" target="_blank">Genome@Home</a> site, here is the latest: </font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Geneva, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr /><font size="1" face="Geneva, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif"> Folding@home3.0 released today! (June 14)

The inclusion of the Genome@home algorithm into Folding@home3.0 is complete and ready to go live today. Existing Genome@home users are encouraged to upgrade to this new client.

The F@h3.0 client has the capability to run exclusively G@h workunits. All you need to do is configure the F@h3.0 client with your existing G@h team number, upon first installation. All F@h3.0 clients run with valid G@h team numbers will process exclusively G@h workunits and all completed units will be credited to the Genome@home stats system. Please note that all valid registered G@h teams are identified by team numbers greater than 100,000; G@h users without a team can enter team number 100,000 itself to remain part of the Genome@home project.

If you're happy with your current G@h client (0.99), there's no mandatory requirement to upgrade or change your configuration in any way. </font><hr /></blockquote><font size="1" face="Geneva, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif">Does MacNN have a G@H team number?

How did it come to this? Goodbye PowerPC. | sensory output

Our G@H team number is 661024393

I had given up on this project, the initial word was that Genome work done with the folding client would apply to the Folding project. But we do still have a Current stats page.

If the stats credits actually appear on G@H, I'll reopen our detailed Gene stats.

There is no point.
If you put in a folding team #, you can crunch for both folding and genome under the folding team, with all credit going to that team. If you crunch under genome, any folding work done is thrown out, and you only get credit for the genome.
The only reason for them letting you do a genome team is for those people who want to stay in genome.

For us, there is no point in crunching for genome, since it is being left to mostly die, with F@H3 being a combined client / stats for both.

Due to the uproar on the forums, they changed the client in the latest betas so that users can now choose their project. If you enter a folding team number, then it will crunch folding or Genome. If you put in a Genome team number, it will crunch only Genome, unless it can't connect to the genome server then it will download a folding unit. However there is a preference setting that is supposed to let you crunch Genome only or folding only.

However, according to vijay, Macs still won't be able to crunch genome, because they don't plan to convert the genome code to Mac. So pretty much, the only Mac option is folding. Windows machines can do just one or both.

The Mac version of 3.0 is still in Beta status. The first two versions wouldn't upload finished work units. (I lost over 6 days of crunching) Apparently 3.0 beta c is working. Haven't tried it yet though, as I have my Macs on D2OL now (the G4 really does well). I don't intend to try Folding again, until they get the server and client bugs settled down a little, and finish rolling out the new Gromacs core (which has the altivec enhancements).
