I need some people to test the seti proxy.
As you know, we've been using another person's proxy until I could get mine back up.
I think I have mine working now, but I need some people to test it.
I need people to connect to http://jaffafamily.org:5517, and tell me how long it takes (in seconds) until the page starts loading.
I also need people to connect clients running on different operating system behind the same IP to the proxy, and keep them there. I need to make sure it works using the setup I have.

Please post your results here.

Thx,

Scott

time to connect to your link via 256k DSL connection

Attempt #1 - 54 seconds and then it timed out.

Attempt #2 - 1.5 seconds and the page popped right up.
Attempt #3 - 1.5 seconds
Attempt #4 - 1.5 seconds.

First time 10 seconds. After that 2-4 seconds each time. On a 10Mb/s connection.

3-5 seconds on 100Mb connection. I'm in a UNIX computer lab, and there's incredible bandwidth.

It took less than a second for the page to start loading on my college's connection (don't know how fast it is but I think we have between 3 and 4 T1 lines).

I'll see if I can get my brother to set his computer to connect to the proxy instead of the SETI servers. All of my other computers are on different projects, so I won't be able to test multiple clients/platform connections.

I still need someone to connect from multiple client types / OSes that are all behind the same IP, then I can bring it live.

Wish I could help, Scott. But all of the computers here have there own public IP address. Maybe when I get home I can have my Mac act as a router and have them both try to access the proxy.
