It sounds like we need to do some recruiting for the Folding@Home team. Can anyone do that?? And do you think my sig may help, copy if you like. I could put together some recruiting stuff very fast and get it out soon if something like that is wanted.

Reader might want to respond to this, but since Scott is LOA I will for the moment. Right now we have a recruiting campaign for SETI going, and if I understand reader and Scott correctly, we won't have another more general campaign until late this spring. While there is not likely to be an all out recruiting campaign for Folding@home right now, don't hesitate to come to the Team forum and talk it up on occassion. That is the best way to keep folks interest up.
I didn't see your sig on your post, but feel free to post it so others can take a look at it. As a result, of the SETI recruiting effort though, there may always be folks coming along and "discovering" the other projects. Now would be a good time to frequent the team forum and be prepared to answer questions about folding at home, if they are asked.

I think that he means his text sig.
Scott has been more into the recruiting plans than me, I try to recruit with thousands of lines of stats code.
But from what I understand, Scott wanted the general recruiting drive to happen when the MDC3 utility was out of beta - that was estimated to be this summer. The SETI recruiting drive was started early because we could not wait for summer, LWD would arrive too soon.
Perhaps the reason we are recruiting against LWD rather than Team MacOSX is that LWD are much noisier. We have not heard a word against Macs or ourselves from Team MacOSX, but we have heard plenty from Team Lassie.
Side note, congrats on Veteran Membership Shaktai.

Brendonshire,
I am going to send another "10" score over to folding@home, before I pull all my power back to dFold. I have two big proteins to finish up on my PC's, so they should finish sometime by morning I think, or shortly after. It isn't much, but it ought to help the F@H team a little. In the meantime stop by the forums and speak up once in a while. Maybe post some good F@H benchmarks or tips or just let us know how it is going. That is one of the best ways to get folks to take notice. Maybe start a F@H news thread or something.

In response to ALL who had advise, Thanks! I will indeed drop by here and talk up the folding project, thanks for throwing some power our way. The folding team really doesn't need allot of help due to the fact that our goal of breaking into the top 100 is behind us. Breaking into the top 50 is next and will happen soon. I just think that it is COOL that we are competing so well after the late start we got. I also have interest in this because I work in the Biotech R&D field. I know what it is like to work on life saving pharmaceuticals.
