Hi we are TheBorg, since the acquisition, we mean assimilation of earthling Macintosh technology we have recently begun assisting you with your data crunching.

We have previously kept our identity a secret, but now would like to be listed among the SETI datah-assimilatahs.

How do we go about changing that option - using the settings panel didn't seem to accomplish this.

OK so it's only 10 units so far, but you, sorry we mean they, are all part of the collective to us.

I assume that you are listed in our tables as "jbiga #491" with 10 units. You will appear as a blank membername in the SETI project pages.

Go to SETI's <a href="http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/account_area.html" target="_blank">User Account Page</a>. You will want to "change user account info" -- in other words, change your account prefs. Enter the email address you used to sign up your account with. Then your SETI password.

If you do not have your SETI account password, go <a href="http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/get_passwd.html" target="_blank">here</a> and enter your account email. Your password will be emailed to you.

Back at the User Account Page, enter the email and password. You will be let into the config page for your account. The top field will have your name or nickname -- this is your screen name if it is shown. Enter your preferred screen name if it is blank.

Right below that field is a check box "Can we show your name on the SETI@home web site?". This box must be checked for your screen name to appear.

When finished, click the Submit button at the bottom of the page. Your new name should show within 15 minutes in our All Members listing for SETI, and will turn up tomorrow morning in the daily stats.
