Well, we've grown to 34 members and are crunching over 1,000,000 units/day, which is pretty good considering the protein has more than doubled in complexity since we started as a team effort.

17th as of now, and we're on our way to the Top Ten.

I think closer to 2,000,000 million a day. I figure that by the end of the competition, we should probably be in 13th place. It is slower going after that, unless we pick up speed.

Excellent!!! Three cheers for our little team.
We have not done bad for being seriously in the competition for less than a month.

And no LWD in sight.

I just wish that Shaktai had dicovered the OS X version sooner, and then we could have competed with the faster client. We'd produce about 5 million a day! Lousy Shaktai.

Just joking!

Yea go ahead and kick on somebody when their down.
At least I picked on him when he was at the top of the game.
Then I pulled the rug out from under him.
Then I saw him get back up and I have been running full speed ever since.

Well actually Reader50 and Scott discovered it. I just did some benchmarking on the latest version to see how it performed and the results were favorable.

BTW, be careful who you kick. I am not "that far" behind in the competition, and I am still ahead of you overall. Another good box or two could turn the tide.

We are now 16th. It looks like about 4 days for our next move up, unless we crank our pace some more (very possible with the competition). The next team in line has not crunched any units for a long time. 5 days to # 14 and 5 or 6 to #13, depending on how we crunch. After that it is a longer haul to the next step. With just a little more crunch power, we might make the top 10 within 2 months of our start.

There you go again! Kicking someone when they are away!
I'm guessing that you didn't want to pick on reader50 because why?
Oh that is correct reader50 can make you come in last in the competition no matter how many computers you drum up.

There's a new team, Advertico, that is out-crunching us as of late. Danger Danger

No hard feelings here.

We had run across it two months before, and heard that it had an OS X client. After a month, I broke some time free for testing. The client seemed ok, I did not evaluate the project.

Unfortunately, we were tied up in site/stats work, so it was a bad time to announce a new team effort or to promise a new site section. Within another week or three of when I let it slip to Shaktai, something would have been posted though, or a new site section turned on. It's been fun, we should have jumped in sooner.

For anyone interested, we have passed OcUK (as Shaktai already mentioned), and I have posted about it on their forums. No replies so far, though there have been 8 views.

What makes you think he is not laughing now.
I saw a message he sent by proxy through camera god a few days ago.
Which means he is probably sneeking onto the computer when no one will catch him.

Yea I noticed that last night when I check to see how bad enola was beating us in the race. I sure hope ole SkiBikeSki come through with those lab machines. Looks like we need more team members too.

Still our band of 34 is doing a great job.

I would be able to put a few more computers on if it wasn't for that damn memory leak. I can't put the client on a computer that I don't have access to at least once a week. Unfortunately, there are quite a few computers like that. Time to go make a request in the MDC3 thread!

Once this leak is taken care of... then you should all be careful.

Yea, Yea talk is cheap.

The memory leak is sort of a pain but setting up cron to take the process down and bring it up again once a day seem to work ok. Unless it is on a high traffic machine.

We welcome you to stomp us any time you like.

Yea, but they also have 4x the number of people we do. Granted some of us are in competition mode, but our team out-crunched them over the past 24hr period. Pretty cool.

Yea and most of that crunching was done by you and your friends.
Great job! I never catch up now. I'll go hide my head in shame now.

Besides a cron job, you could also use My script to restart the client periodically
