Hi, everyone. I know everyone likes to show off a little, right?

Why doesn't everyone post what they're running on and what hardware or software modifications they've done to speed up their crunching time?

I'm running two 500-megahertz Power Mac G4's, a 500-megahertz FireWire PowerBook, an AMD Athlon 800-megahertz system, a Sony VAIO XG-19 (650-megahertz, 256 megabytes of RAM), and a Dell Dimension XPS T450.

Average Crunch Times:

500-megahertz Power Mac G4's - 4:45
500-megahertz PowerBook - 5:15
800-megahertz AMD Athlon - 5:45
Sony VAIO - 6:30
Dell Dimension - 9:00

I run SETI@home with LibMotoSh with my G3 PowerBook, and all the systems (including the PC systems) run the program in a RAM disk. They're all running SETI@home 2.04. And, of course, they run "window-shaded".

Happy bragging, everyone!

Actually, the Dell Dimension isn't running for the same account the other computers are running for. I don't want slow computers slowing me down.

1 G4 400 mhz with L2 cache @ 267.5 mhz
(PowerLogix cache control) - 5 hrs 8 mins.

The 5:08 was my best time. Machine is set to go blank after 1 minute. It's being run windowshaded with appletalk and virtual memory off, 128 megs of ram, usually at 1152 x 870 x millions or thousands, LibMoto installed. For real speed I use Peek-a-Boo to kill all cpu processes (even the finder) except for Seti @ Home.
