Well, it doesn't really benefit you that much, but it helps the team. Pretty much, i am running SETI@Home in my dad's lab and office computers, but now he wants to delete them, he says that it is really slowing down his computer and apps take forever to load, does anyone know what's going on?

(when i meant that it benefited you, i meant that those computers that are running SETI in my dad's work contribute around 3 WU's per day, even though that's really not that much, i really want to continue SETI on his computers because i only can get around 1-2 WU out of my home computer which would bring down my daily average.)

you need to run seti as a screensaver only, not as a background app

and set the pref's to make the screen go to black after one minute of screensaver operation... there are plenty of tips in the seti ReadMe, and you can search the fora... here and in the third-party apps forum...

Yep, that's what i have been doing since that, all i did was install it, and then i told him to press control-shift-s on his comps everyday before he left work, personally, i don't see any affect with just the screensaver, but he says that one of his apps is about 3 times slower since i installed it, i'm still looking futher into it, i had to delete SETI from both his comps for now because he was really pissed.
