Check out our SETI stats. As I write this we somehow jumped from ~135,000 WU to 166,000+ WU. The only guess I can offer is that SETI is finally transferring all our old WUs from previous teams. When I added up the totals for each of us, it does indeed total to 166,000+.
If SETI really is counting things this way, then we are now #39 on the Club Teams. A nice jump from #53.
Cheers, everyone!
crunch, munch. there are still 38 teams ahead of us.

It seems strange, more likely a system glitch.
But one thing for sure is that SETI has less backlog of units now
because they even re-enabled the 'view last 10 units'.

Last week, I had noticed that SETI Checker would total over 150K while tabulating the Team list, but then would settle on a total in the 125-130K range. I thought that it was just a minor cosmetic bug in the program.
If your guess is correct, many other teams may have also had similar jumps, and those jumps could be in EITHER direction. We may have jumped to #39, may still be at #53, or may have plummeted to #67; so keep the stopper in the keg for now.
I am going to investigate as best I can over the weekend. A friend of a sibling of a co-worker is a sophomore CS whiz-kid at Berkeley who has been chipping in on the SETI@home project this past semester. I'll see if I can get some information, even if it is rumor/3rd-hand knowledge/suspicion.
No forecasts will be issued until more information is available. A forecast without knowledge of initial conditions is about as stupid as a Palm Beach Florida voter.

So far…
In the past hour, I've investigated the Club Teams of 100K+ WUs. Of the 69 teams in that category, 28 have updated their totals somehow, and we are one of them. Of those 28, 6 have shown gains in excess of 10K WUs or losses of any size since the update at 0948 UTC yesterday.
Team MacAddict +29646
Knights Who Say Ni! +27966
Team NIPPON -24453
BP6/VP6 User Group -4810
Overclockers Network +27219
Team MacNN +31986
Connected somehow? I don't know. When more teams updates their personal totals, there may be a clearer picture of what has happened.

I had checked a random selection of other teams from the Club Teams page. Most did not change too much - further checking reveals that Danometer is correct - they had not changed at all. Still, 30,000+WUs are nothing to sneeze about. It is a good bet that it will put us higher in the rankings when the recalculations are finished.

I did that. It's not unusual for Lamb Chop to gain 10K+ WU in one day. It is unusual for the 6 aforementioned teams to move the amount and/or direction that they did in one day. If we are crunching 32K WU/d, we'll catch Lamb Chop in the not too distant future; but judging from our team member stats, we certainly are not crunching 71 WUs per day per member, which is what we would have to be doing to do 32K WU/d. Something cuckoo for Coco Puffs is happening, I guess we'll find out later.

Eric On Stats and Work Unit Totals:
At some point, in an attempt to speed up the stats processing we started caching group database entries in memory for large periods of time between database updates. It worked, we are able to keep up with the stats fairly well. Unfortunately this introduced a bug when people joined groups. The database entry would be updated, but this update would be lost the next time a cached entry was written to the database. I've fixed the problem, additions to the group will get their preexisting workunit totals updated in the database once a week.
from www.teamlambchop.com
Yeah, if you didn't know, I'm on Ars. We are often getting 20,000 units a day. But the seti total was adjusted by several hundred thousand. The next update (Club top 100 and All Teams top 100) should show the true totals. Now each individual page is right though.
