Dear Team MacNN,

Good evening, this is slugcouple2@aol.com hailing you for some help. I noticed Scotttheking's cry for a boost to our stats. for the upcoming contest. I would like to ask your assistance both technically and financially as we vanquish our competition! I am an avid Macintosh supporter trapped in a PC hardware world (non-Windows user!). My quest is to build a dual Celeron 1.2 GHZ (x2 mind you) box (el cheapo) running BeOS 5 or Linux, as they stable and compatible (plus don't support Redmond, WA), for a combined effort addition of 6.7MKeys/sec. I figure I need assistance raising the $200 to accomplish this project. This box as it stands is a dual PII 333 which outputs 1.8MKeys/sec. My ideal plan (barring technical input to the contrary )would need fund raising support of $200 or so. This box is a dedicated RC-5 cracker box, I figure since the team will benefit, I would ask for whatever assistance can be afforded. I hope Scott will see this as a noble effort as I am a student and lack any tangible funds at this time.:/ I have a Paypal account setup under my email address (slugcouple2@aol.com). Anyone wanting to give technical input, it would be just as valuable! Any overage in the fund will go towards the requisitiion of another box for the effort!

GO TEAM MACNN!!! LETS GET 'EM IN THE STATS!

-Jeff (slugcouple2@aol.com)

Or you can donate to me to help me get the quad K8 box that will also be the stats box (I'll be getting it this summer)

Seriously though, a Celeron???
The AMD Athlon is so much better for RC5.
I'm just a poor college student too, can't help you.

Where exactly do you live at?

Okie Dokie Scott the rising king.

Ok, if people want to help me with a Dual Athlon box then. Seriously though, dual Celeron would best any Athlon out there currently. Check the stats. Plus it's sooo much cheaper to make.

ASU.... Mr. UofA (sarcasm ).

Seriously though, this is something that would benefit the team since I hardly use my computer (not even using mine, using my wife's little box).

Not asking for much...

Thanks,
Jeff

You dare insult the athlon?
That's it, you're going down. The Barros pizza at Brown and Alta Mesa (by Higley) at 9:00PM Friday night

You going to go to the Apple store this weekend?
It does open Saturday, right?

Oh yeah, and I'm pretty sure you can't do dual celerons anymore
