Hey Scott -

You mention a bug that prevents selection of the AltiVec core on G4's. I take that to refer to the newer 7410's and 7450's, but not to the original 7400's. Is that correct? I have had no trouble with the build I'm running on the duallie(except that you passed me ). I guess that could also mean I never updated my version of RC5 and am running the old client.

on my PMG4 350 (a 7400), we observed that the version of the client in the dls section (version 2.8015/ build 469) would not use the AltiVec core. reverted to version 2.8010/build 462 (linked to in scott's news posting), and the AltiVec core is now used.

I also found that the latest version of RC5 won't use crunch-vec. So I reverted to the 2nd most recent version which works perfectly!

Yeah, I forgot to post about the bug until I was working with Elz.
The new classic version has a bunch of bugs.
It was crashing my PM7100, for instance.

The X version is fine though.
More later, I got class now.

In 10.1 right now and I have RC5 in terminal and classic..
9.2 : 2.8010-462
10.1 : 2.8015-469
Both using crunch-vec. Shutting classic off ..

Thanks, guess it's time to drop back to 9.2 and run the firmware update.
