I'm wanting to get back into seti, or maybe even RC5, but what I know about unix could be written on the back of a matchbook. -in grease pencil

Does someone have a link to a website for the unix challenged?

Ok, it's not really the install per se. But I'm not sure if it needs to be in the 'root' or how to get it there if it does.

And the biggie, how do you 'run' it. I'm assuming some sort of command from the terminal.

MacOS
Simply double click the dnetc application icon to start the client running and use File/Quit or cmd-Q to quit the client. The MacOS X client is started from the command line the same way as Unix clients.
??what way??

--I get a message saying the application that created this cannot be found or some such.

I don't have time to explain right now (I'm about to head of to California), but look for an older thread started by me asking how to run it. It should get you started.
I'll try and help when I get back.
