Just wanted to drop a line letting you all know I've abandoned the use of the OS X 3.0 graphical client as I watched in horror as it was just about to send a block to Seti (after 18-19 hours, much longer than ever before) and the program crashed without sending the block. It then gave the dialog about a program has unexpectedly quit. I re-ran the client and all it did is grab a new work unit instead of sending what apparently was lost in the crash. I'm back on the OS 9.04 side for the moment. I could use the text only OS X client, and I may yet - we'll see what Seti @ home does at this point. I'm very reluctant to wait another 12-19 hours to generate a block that fails.

and who can blame you, all that crunching for nothing, even if it is only one unit... why risk losing another?

AGP G4 400 with 128 megs of ram, OS X Public Beta, two 10 gig drives, etc.
Nothing special but my average block time on the OS 9 side with 2.04 is in the 5-7 hour range. 3.0 is proving to be a major pain! Oh well.
