SETI, the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence at home, is a screensaver. It processes data for the University of Berkeley. It is a very worthwhile project.

Distributed.net is another project. Team MacNN competes in the RC5 competition, and we are ranked in the top 200 teams daily.
Distributed.net is a nonprofit organization. With RC5, if you solve the key, you win $1000!! They are trying to crack an encryption scheme.

hi, this is the first tie iposted in this part i usually post in the lounge. but i got soome stuff i need to ask. i was trying to join team MacNN and for the e-mail address i put in my e-mail which is warlag@excite.com and then i put in my password for that e-mail which i am not saying what it is and then this inknown e-amil/password thing comes up and it wont let me join team MacNN so all I want to know is if you can help me. e-mail me what to do thank yyou very much if u can help me thanks

1) Capitalization, punctuation and spell checking, as well as grammar will get you far when communicating by written word.

2) I presume you're talking about SETI? If so, I had this problem for a couple of days, even though I had been submitting units for a while, and the same e-mail addy showed up on their stats pages. I don't know why it happened, or why it stopped, but after a couple of days, it all worked again. Give it a day or two, and try again.

If you're talking about RC5, you need to submit work units for a couple days before it recognizes your email address.
