Having just joined, can anybody tell me when team started (I don't see stats at SETI@home on such things/group)?
+Who is founder ("hamm") and what name is he under in list (or did I miss "hamm")?
+What does it mean that the "Current Rank" on the Team MacNN homepage says "35" but the SETI shows us as #59 among all groups?

I don't know much about the history (I've been here since July 2000), but the raking you see on this stat's page is in reference to the 'Clubs' category on SETI's page. Therefore, we are 35th in the 'Clubs' category and we are 59th out of *ALL* SETI teams.

Seems like the SETI pages listing groups ought to show their formation date, n'est ce pas? Or that Team MacNN could show its start date on its web page?

Seems like wlonh(an ex-moderator) got this team started last March or April. In February, I had joined a team started by MacCPU(we're still crunchimg, no. 11 on small company teams), a now defunct upgrade house and came here often for ideas on making SETI run faster. This used to be a very active forum. Lots of knowledgeable folks here.

Ha Ha!!! cool, I'm a veteran. A fourth star, finally.

I'm not gonna let em pass us.
I'm gonna try and assimilate my dad's office asap, that will keep us ahead(not really, but...).

If you want to donate money to my buy me a 1.2GHz athlon, the machine will run linux and seti, and that is it.
I need $300 more.

Then they'll never beat us.

True, I guess I'll have to wait 3 more weeks to buy the machine myself.

Same here Scott...funding is being directed to the finer things in life tomorrow. Some people just don't find electronics and computers romantic.
