And can I run it on my OS 9 machine? Does it make pretty pictures like SETI@Home does?

No, you can't run it on OS9. It currently only works with OSX, and it is too slow to run.
The windows version has pretty graphics, but the OSX version is command line.
For graphics, you must run SETI.
