I don't fully understand the contest you have going, but I'd like to join up.

Can someone help me out with what to install on a win2k box? I move my powerbook around too often to install this on it right now, while I can leave the desktop win2k box crunching 24/7.

Download and install the client, following the config instructions on our site.
Then go into dos, go to the directory you installed it, and type in "dnetc -install"
Go into control panel / services, there should be a distributed.net service.

I couldn't find a windows section, but then again its late and I'm stupid.

Just follow either the 9 or X config instructions.
Those are the same.
Don't forget to use the proxy, too.
