There's some nice documentation on the team.macnn.com website about hiding the SETI and RC5 clients on one's own computer, but there's nothing about hiding it on someone else's computer.

I'm bringing this up, because I have two roommates who would love to be running one or the other, but just don't know it yet. Is there anyway that I could install SETI or RC5 on a machine running Windows 98, OS 9, or OS 10.1 without the owners knowing about it? (Neither are very computer literate and would never look to see what processes are currently running on their computer... and even if they did, they wouldn't understand what they were looking at)

I'm thinking that there's gotta be a way to have one of the clients launch on startup, and then just completely hide itself. I know it's devious, but Team MacNN must triumph!

I cannot supply help on x86 systems, no experience there.

Our hiding instructions should work on any OS X or Classic system, just use the correct instructions for each OS type.

I do not recommend getting caught slipping clients onto computers without permission.

Do not put it on computers you don't have permission to.

There is a guy who is now facing 120 yrs in prison and almost $1million in fines for putting RC5 on computers he didn't own.
So don't do it.

If you do get permission, but they say they don't want it in the way, then I'll help you.
But you have to ask permission.
I run it on over 60 comps, and I have permission for them all. It's not that hard.
