Despite what has been mentioned in other forums, I had no problem runnning the crunch-vec on my new G4. It is an 867, which of course has L3 cache, 2MB, and it usually performs at about 7.7MKeys/s. I'm thinking of waiting a couple months and then overclocking it to 1GHZ and I'll report the scores then, too.

I also spent some time on a Dual 800MHZ Mac in the Apple Store in Woodfield, IL. MAN THAT THING IS FAST! In Final Cut 2, OSX, and RC5 that thing is incredible. It performed about 14.1 MKeys/s!! Just what you'd expect a 1600MHZ machine to do, based on my 867 score.

I also left the client runnng, using my name, so now Apple is helping RC5. I hope apple doesn't shut down the machines at night.

*Scott wonders how he will keep ahead of SkiBikeSki*

Those speeds are nice.
My dinky little Ti only does 4.44 Mkeys/sec.

Hahahaha...looks like you guys are in trouble. My Dual 800 is sitting on a Fed-Ex truck roaming the streets near my house right now. I expect delivery before noon today. I should take the number 11 spot overall this evening. All that effort so far has been with an 8500 which gets about 300k/keys sec. I can't even imagine 14Million/keys sec! Watch out guys cause I'm on my way up!
Yeah, about those TPS reports, didn't you get the memo?

You go to the 12th spot with an 8500. Wow! With determination like that I can't wait to see what you can do with a dual 800. Happy Crunching.

Also I am currently the only person to post benchmarks for the dual 800, on dnet's speed page. Why don't you run the bench mark and add to the list of speeds.

Who has what crunching?

I have, or will have within the next week, all of these machine crunching RC5.
This doesn't count my SETI comps.

7 1.2GHz Tbirds.
1 Ti 500
1 PM7100-66
and a few other part time comps.

Well, the Dual 800 is now cranking out the keys. Getting just a little more than 13 MKeys/sec with a bunch of other stuff running. As for what I have crunching:

1 G4 Dual 800
1 G4 450 (part time)
1 PM 8500
1 Dell Dimension 500
3 300-something Gateways (part time)

Not a lot of power there, but hopefully enough to push me toward the Top 5!

Edit: Ski, I went to d.net and entered my benchmarks for my machine. Now there are two of us!

I guess the only thing you can do is get yourself a new G4 to compensate
I get a new comp when my mom sells her house. Please be out in Jan G5, please.
Or get a job as an IT guy. Part time. You think I own those Tbirds? Cept for the one on my list, but that is a SETI cruncher.

Don't get scared yet DocWest. I had my G4 350 running 24/7 to crank out 1000 units a day. my new 867 will only be running 12 hours a day, since it makes so much noise I can't sleep with it on. Maybe when I get to college and have a 2-room suite, i can run it 24/7 with a LAN for internet access. Then you should be afraid, very afraid.

PS I still have my 350 running, so I to have a small army of silicon crunching in my name.

Well, the Dual is still chugging along. I've been installing software all morning and configuring a bunch of stuff. The average is still right at 13 MKeys/sec. Not too shabby. Guess we'll see later tonight how many blocks I can run per day.

That's it.
I'm going home this weekend to install the other Tbirds. I'm hoping for 10000 blocks per day.
And I have this nifty little floppy that installs RC5 on PCs with ease. It takes maybe 45 seconds, and when it is done, RC5 runs at bootup.
And there are lots of comps in this dorm

Keep crunching.
Don't ever give up.
Every bit counts.
I'm bugging another comp in SETI, probably tonight. And also tonight, I should be getting another RC5 comp. Girls love me. I help fix their comps, they let me put seti or rc5 on
