Yip, that'd do it. Welcome to the team, Osirisis! We've got some heavy hitters, but we're still running very low on members. What are you crunching with?

Yeah, I want a dual 800 too. I barely have anything crunching.
Just 7 1.2GHz Athlon Thunderbirds, 1 Ti 500, 1 150MHz PM8500, 1 PM7100-66MHz, and a Celeron 733.
I need some real power.

I hope the bomb is that you go a job as a sys admin and now will have 1000 computer crunching SETI and RC5 for us

Sorry, I only had time to set up the machine last night. (Freaking FedEx left it on my doorstep yesterday with no one home, but at least it's here!) I'm working late all this week, so it will probably be Saturday morning before I can get everything installed so that I can read my email. With almost a month without email, I know I have to have at least a thousand emails in my and my wife's accounts!

Riiiiiight. Has it really been that long? Have you forgotten about the one who had a Rev B (RIP ) pushing 3.8Mkeys/sec? Just wait until I learn how to max my new baby.

Yeah, lightning came through the cable modem and blew the ethernet port and hard drive. Why do you think I got a new computer?

Well some people buy more then one computer.
May I recommend a Tripp Lite?
$50000 warranty. Includes connected devices (obviously the cable modem would need shielding by them too).
That includes protection against DIRECT lighting strikes.
They work too.

And no, you won't be passing me.
Unfortunately the stats seem to be lagging again.
So here are my approx stats from yesterday (supposed to be right, but the day before that (first day I started running using this thing) I did 1800 more blocks then it listed.
So the listed numbers may be too low
Here they are: Yesterday (sept 5) - approx 8588 blocks. My best day ever
Today so far (5.5 hrs left) (sept 6) - 9084 blocks. It is going to be my new best day ever
And in SETI I do 6-8 WUs per day.

Still think you can pass me?

I hit 10,000 for the day, and at least one of my Tbirds is crashed.
That means that if all my comps would be up and working every day I could easily hit 10,000 blocks every day.
Just have to get the comps to stop overheating.

Hang in there Scott, cooler weather is just around the corner. Our weather forecast for tomorrow has "snow" in it...

Welcome back Bockie

Been way busy lately; school started, the project I've been working on for the last year and a half just released and surgeons are screaming for it, and to top it off I picked up a V-6 Fiero for 400.00 for parts. After a week of dinking with it, it runs quite smoothly, so I'm gonna fix it and sell it instead of parting it to my old SE. Once I sell it, I get a new iBook, so that's my motivation.

oh ya, by the way... you guys with 800-duallies really suck..

Yeah, but not here.
Too damn hot.
And I can't reboot em (I just setup an office, and the crashing comp is an unused one).
But as long as I stay on top I'm ok.
Only did around 8500 blocks today
I want a dual 800. Anyone want to buy me one? This Ti is too damn slow.

Osirisis, nice crunch rate. You will be rising in the ranks.
We must get more members.
But we need more in SETI too.

How about we race.
Say, 1st person to 750,000?
If you're up for it, I'll start a new thread for it.

I will not go quietly into this dark night....

I must be desperate, bucause I set up a Pentium 166 to crunch RC5 yesterday. Got 45 work units out of it in 24 hrs

Even my 604e 150 mz kicks out 150 or so a day.

I will desperately cling to my #5 spot, but I can feel it slipping away....

Let 'er rip, fellas.

Sorry...not at home..and don't remember my password...

Anyways...give me a few days before we start any racing...I'm not sure what your total amount of work units are so far...but I think I'm somewhere around 308k...so..I definitely will be up for that..but I need a few days to get all my comps set up once again.

But yeah...let's everyone get it on...

And as a side note...although there are around 12 of us that crank out 1700+....we still need more members...we usually average around 120th place each day..and I'd like to see us crack the top 100 for a given day..and all of us crankin them out helps..but more people helps even more....anyways..just my beef...

I think you have 55000 more blocks then me.
But that may be wrong, because the stats are currently very screwed up.
I should be able to close that gap though.

When you want to start the race, just start a new thread for it.
That work?

Talk about the stats being screwed up, I went and check my stats page and I've lost about 6000 blocks! What's up with that???
Yeah, about those TPS reports, didn't you get the memo?

Haha.
I lost at least 10000.

I'll just have to get more comps to make up for it.

Alright, OSX, what is the best configuration for the processor... It seems so much slower than 9.... 9 manages to cruch at a reasonable rate with the #3 core... X seems to have selected core #1.

Damn stats... Hard to keep track where you are without them running... I should have jumped lots by the time they get them fixed.

Download this version for X.
It should work. http://http.distributed.net/pub/dcti...osx-ppc.tar.gz

Edit: Looks like it's gonna be another 10,000 block day today.

I didn't think that you would lose the blocks...I just think that their crap messes up and doesn't accurately represent the totals for that day..but when everything is fixed...you should be able to look at your record..and see what the correct amounts were..I could have sworn I read one number one day..and then the next day read something different..so..not sure if you were thinking you lost them...but in reality you probably didn't...they just haven't gotten added yet..

Someone tell me if I'm wrong..

You are right.
You don't lose anything.
I was just saying my total had dropped, so I had "lost" the blocks.
You ready to race yet?

I definitely want to race in some fashion. I posted in the other topic about maybe having a 4 way race with the other two who were having it out. I'm still working on getting everything together..so...maybe we can find something else to race to since I don't think the other two have the same totals as us..so maybe we can set up something to monitor our individual day stats in a new topic or something....i might be able to set up some kind of a webpage that would take our 4 stats everyday...and we could all talk about that page in that new topic...anyways..what do you all think?

Those other two here were "racing" were DocWest and myself. And I would like to start a declared race. But neither of us have as much speed or total stats as GetSome or Scott, so why not start two seperate races.

GetSome or Scott can race to 750K and DocWest and I can race to 250K. Meaning both races would be to see who can double their total first, roughly. So how about it. Should we have two separate but equall races, or first to double, or just GetSome or Scott?

What's it gonna be DocWest?

PS Let's continue talking about the race in the new race topic. Looking forward to your reply, and the friendly competition.

I'll get back to you on that, depends on how my job interview goes tomorrow.
If I get the job, and permission to run seti and rc5 on the comps, you got a race.
