Stats for RC5 have been down several days now. I hope they get them up soon. How will we know how we fared against Phlump (sp?) without stats? I am still cranking away on RC5. I don't see myself moving to Ubero or SETI.

I have a thing against SETI, ever since I found out that for the first 6 months of the project they were sending the same group of blocks out over and over because they didn't have any data. Very unfriendly behavior towards your volunteers.

Ubero is fine, but since it's a commercial venture I am not inclined to help on it. I feel like cracking RC5 helps us all by promoting strong encryption.

What do you guys think? Do you even care what you crunch beyond keeping the team up in the ranks? Am I being dumb for caring?

For the RC5 race we know because we lost.

I do SETI because I like the idea.

For ubero, it is not commercial now, and they will probably have an option to do for pay OR free projects, so you can choose what to do.

RC5 isn't promoting strong encryption, since the RC5 standard is now old and has been replaced. When it was launched many years ago, it was to show how strong it was and that it couldn't be brute force cracked any time soon, but it was more an advertising thing.

I just crunch them all
