Where would my CPU cycles be most usefull of the team? I have a Dual 800 if that matters in what people think I should do.
Thanks.

You could join the RC5 teeam, we're currently in a race against a bunch of grey boxes, so a Dual 800 would be certainly VERY welcome.

Definitely RC5.
After the race people can branch out, but for now all power should be focused on RC5, especially G4 power.

Anyone willing to send me a dual 800? I'll set it up to run rc5 all day.

not right now they aren't. Besides, everyone should do RC5 until the race is over Jan 1st, then we can branch out again.
I, for one, am going to seti and ubero after the race.

So after the new year starts, everyone is bailing on RC5? Will we have come even close to the Team's goal for this race?

I registered on Ubero and downloaded the client although it looks like more of a full-blown app then a background service. Haven't had a chance to check out the PC client, but I'm hoping it's as diplomatic as the RC5 client!

Is it just me or are other people holding off any upgrade purchases until after Macworld in January? I was itching to get the Sonnet Dual 500 upgrade for my G4/400 AGP (since there isn't much else I can plug into it!) but have decided to wait a few more weeks; too bad because RC5 could have really benefitted from it.

Cheers.

Can't retrive my password here at work (I'm spam2@theresistance.net). What race are you talking about? Isn't the goal to find the key? Shouldn't we keep after RC5 until we find the key?

I've been adding more and more machines over the past two weeks that I have been doing this. Right now I have these:

1 G4/450 OSX
1 G4/733 OSX
1 G4/400 OSX
1 Celeron/1GHz WinME
1 Celeron/366MHz Win98 (part time)
1 P2/266 WinNT

Yesterday I managed 19,232 KKeys/sec. I am planning on adding my P3/750 also when I get a USB KVM switch so I can control it. It's running WinXP.

If MacNN the team bails out January 1, I'll just go solo and keep my blocks until another team comes up that wants them. We should all stick with it until we (or someone else) finds the key. United we stand.

We are racing another guy right now.
We aren't bailing on RC5, but some of us are going to take some power off after the race is over.

That doesn't mean we are quitting though.
