The team site will be down for a while in the next day or two, and the team SETI proxy will be down for a while longer.

I've lost my place of hosting due to some stupidity on their end, so I have to order a DSL line at my mom's house, get it installed, and then move the boxes over there.
This could take a month.
I'll try and get temporary hosting from a friend until then, but no guarantees.
Sorry.

Do you know of another seti proxy we can use in the meantime? i'd really like to avoid the long wait to get units directly from Berkeley.

I use two CLI clients, and keep them about 50% apart. That way, if one finishes up, it can take up to 8 hours to connect, while the other keeps crunching away. No power lost.

If I had a dual G4, I would keep 4 CLI clients on hond, two for each CPU. Again, I could keep both CPUs busy if I can't upload right away.

It's not as simple as a proxy, but it still works. I have yet to get caught high and dry without work units.

Edit: There is my OS 9 client also, since I reboot between OSes multiple times per day. Between 3 clients, there is always a work unit to crunch.

As soon as someone changes the DNS, seti.macnn.com will point to a seti proxy run by a member of ars technica who has graciously allowed the team to use it while I search for a new hosting location.
So seti.macnn.com should be active again, probably tomorrow, but it may not point to the same proxy as before.
I'll then repoint the address when I get another one setup, which might be as early as tomorrow night, if my friend lets me run one out of his house.
