Yesterday we did 254145 blocks.
This is a listing of how many MHz we'd need of each processor type to do that.
Pentium 4: 584892MHz
Pentium Classic: 564003MHz
Pentium MMX: 376002MHz
P2, P3, Celeron: 282002MHz
PM603/604/G3 239274MHZ
Athlon family: 232237MHz
G4 90759MHz
I got lazy, didn't do the K5 or K6 family, but this shows a bit.
I ranked them from fastest to slowest. This doesn't (can't) take into account processor usage, so we'll assume linux, which barely takes any power.
Enjoy.

just because big numbers are hard to read:
Pentium 4: 584892MHz
Pentium Classic: 564003MHz
Pentium MMX: 376002MHz
P2, P3, Celeron: 282002MHz
PM603/604/G3 239274MHZ
Athlon family: 232237MHz
G4 90759MHz
Pentium 4: 585GHz
Pentium Classic: 564GHz
Pentium MMX: 376GHz
P2, P3, Celeron: 282GHz
PM603/604/G3 239GHZ
Athlon family: 232GHz
G4 90GHz
Now this confuses me... sorry if it's been beaten to deat.
But how can a first-gen P-Classic beat P4? Doesn't the P4 have better optimization capabilities??

Naw, the P4 is a piece of junk processor, built for high #s, and not a whole lot else.
It shows, too.

I thought dnetc was writing a specific, optimised core for the P4?

Who knows.
They haven't yet, that's all I know.
