Here is my question: Can I convert my CR-RW in to a hard drive.
I want to know if I take my Que! USB CD-RW drive, dissect it, can I remove the CD-RW drive and add a Hard Drive instead? If so, can I then use the CD-RW drive as an internal HD?
If I decide to do this, what type of HD will I need to buy (would it be 3.5" ATA/IDE?
Peace,
O

Most conversion cases are IDE to FW or USB but not all of them like to play nice with other devices, some cases will do HDs and CD-RW drives, where others will only do HDs. Your best guess would be to go to www.xlr8yourmac.com and check your case their, or just try it and see if it works. the drive would mostlikely be a 3.5 ATA/IDE drive

ummm...if you replaced your external CD-RW with an HD, and then put the CD-RW inside your computer, then wouldn't it be an internal CD-RW? unless you know of some magical program that turns one piece of hardware (CD-Rw) into another piece of hardware(internal HD)...if you do, then can it change my G4 450 into a G4 dual 1.25 Ghz?
