I'm getting a new iBook, and I'd like to do the color mod. Once upon a time I caught a post that said that as long as an approved repair person disassembled & reassembled the iBook, you could repaint it without voiding the warranty.

Anyone know about this?

That is untrue. With a job like that it will definitly void the warrenty.
