Does anyone know if connecting the startup drive to a PCI controller card instead of the mainboard controller is bad for the logic board. Or is that just dumb.
I have a 933 G4 and I would like to connect my Western Digital "special edition" drive to a Siig ATA 100/133 card instead of the boards controller. Would there be any system slowdown or hesitation cause the drive is not connected to "where it should be"? Keep in mind the main controller would have nothing attached to it

I upgraded my BW G3 with a sonnet PCI IDE card and have the start-up drive attached. It works for me.
