Last time I checked, ATI doesn't even have a feature set for the Mac version (ie types of video out ports, RAM, clock speed), let alone a release date for the card. Estimates were the end of the year, but most likely sometime in 2003. I'm guessing March 2003 at the latest. ATI has to create a new set of drivers for the card since it's a different architecture than the 8500/9000 cards.

That's funny. How often do you see NVIDIA come out with updates? How many people working on the NVIDIA drivers do you see active within the Mac community (visiting various forums, interacting with the users).

And who said anything about ATI shipping their Macs anywhere near the PC ship times?

Nvidia drivers are open source, i.e. anyone can write there own (includeing apple) where as ATI will not alllow anyone other than themselfs to write there drivers. also have you heard of any Nvidia products not working when a new version of the OS is out? I can remmember a number of times when my 2nd video card ceased to function because it needed either newer firmware (again) or a non existance driver. don't even try to bring up the nvida flash thing, that is apples own lil messup and dosen't have to deal with nvidia.
