I still hear some people say how they never have
problems with Virtual PC. For me it would only
run for an hour or so at a time then crash, and
when it did run it would take HUGE amounts of my
CPU. Here is my solution, its the only thing PCs
are good for. I think the grand total for this
beast was $30, for the two cards, everything else
I had already or was given to me for free. It
works like a charm too!

That´s a great 6100 mod. Do you plan to insert a CD-drive too??

No it won't fit due to things sticking out of the
motherboard. And I have a flat bezel with no hole,
so it works out fine. I don't need one anyway, I
never do anything else with it, I hate PCs

What do you have a 260MHz G4 upgraded 6100? My dual 533 plays a game like Alice at the highest resolution, with full detial, perfectly, and thats with all my normal apps running in the background, including Dnet.

You run all your normal apps in the background while playing CPU-/GPU-intensive games? Okay, whatever...

++ Well I also have a GeForce 4, that might also help. Before when I had a 2 I played in normal resolution sizes.

So anyway I had some kid I know to a little soldering magic to the ethernet card, so I could hook the power light of the 6100 up to the activity light of the ethernet card in this machine. A much more useful and much much COOLER thing for it to do. Now I will be able to know if its downloading or not just by glancing over at the machine! Only problem is the machine again won't boot. The BIOS is giving me **** about a bad HD. Thing is the motherboard is riveted into the case, so there's no way to hook up a keyboard. I'm sure the problem is that I just need to "kick" the bios a little and it will boot, but doing that is very hard. Not only will a keyboard not plug in unless i carefully find a way to de-rivet the board, but I don't have a PC keyboard either, i'll have to borrow one again :-( When this thing works, it works great, its only when it doesn't that...

I'll tell you one thing though, it makes me that much happier to be a Mac user!

Make sure the jumpers on the HD are set for PC use. Check the ribbon cable. Does the BIOS auto-sense the drive's parameters or do you need to enter them manually?
