Hi

As a disabled person using Mac hardware I miss the keyboard startup facility as I cannot reach the power button on the rear of my otherwise wonderful machine. Has anybody come up with a solution?

Thanks

Peter

I'm afraid I haven't seen any solution anywhere.

Would it be possible to leave the machine asleep when you are not using it, then you would only have to press any key on the keyboard to get the machine to come to life?

Yea apple seems to buid things so that the power buttion is something not to be seen or touched. Promoteing people to use sleep mode, or buy an apple display...

There are several 3rd Party keyboards w/ powerbuttons, look at

MacAlly

And Griffin makes this boss device called a powermate which can work as a powerbutton.

too bad that any USB device won't do any good. When the machine crashes, so does USB... Yay for apple!

There IS a USB signal that will make your computer turn on . Trust, one of my devices used to always turn on the computer when I switched on the power strip it was connected to.
