yup thats right. I'm doing it on a Mac! The drive I have is this old SCSI 4 GB 10K drive. Being a 10 K, I imagine that it will be even more impressive to SEE in action. As far as which computer to put it in... Doing this hack make the drive completely unreliable, it could die at any momeny, so my current plan is to put it in a quadra 700, load NetBSD on it, and make a little web page about the project, hosted by itself. I'm going to also cut a hole in the top of the computers case and put a second window in there. I'm also going to try and make a perl that will call fsck so from the web I can cause ALL SORTs of disk activity to make this very hypnotizing to watch. I'm going to have a little bit of a page on it soon, and I'm going to have to buy some plexglass tomorrow. I've already opened the drive and cut the top with the dremel.

Any insight into why it might not be working?

Fancy giving us a walkthrough, so we con thry and identify any mistakes and not repeat them?
