What I have: I have a firely 5 GB firewire external hard drive. (same kind of hard drive that is in the ipod...1.8 in toshiba drive)

What I need: A 20 GB or larger firewire drive.

Proposed solution: Buy a larger laptop drive, and just connect it to the firewire board.

Question: Are the connectors the same or different between the 2.5 inch laptop drives and 1.8 inch laptop drives?

yes they are diffrent in size
