Hrm, as far as I know you won't be able to easily swap out the old graphics card and put in the 9000. It's soldered to the logic board and isn't likely pin compatible with the 9000. You'll also have trouble finding the 9000 chip, since they're only sold to OEMs.

I think the 7500mob is pin for pin with the 9000mob. You might be able to find one off a dead PB board. Also the RAM should be upgraded to 64mb.

* I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS *

Can you even upgrade the RAM on portable video cards?

Not going to happen, well you could if you had access to a wave soldering system and more than enough skillz to pay the bills.

that is assumeing that the Chips are exactly the same size/power connection. and you can get a hold of a working Chipset remove it without busting it.

The reason i'm pretty sure they are backwards compatible is because the Titainums had both on their boards. And Apple seemed to be able to change with little trouble. Unlike the AL PB where they went to nCrappia.

Apple also changed a number of things between the different versions of the LBs.

Also I guess apple will be missing out on those shipping delays caused by AITs inability to produce important things like drivers that work, compatibility and things like the actual chip sets. yep and who can forget things like the cards haveing faulty fans. What good times apple will be missing.
