I have a scrapped B & W G3 and a very useable Beige G3. Does anyone know if the Zif from the B & W 350 will work in place of the Beige 266? If so, will I have to change my jumper settings?
Does it matter that the bus speed of one is 66 and the other is 100?

I am wanting to get my G3 above 300, because my PCI Firewire card is not running reliably, and if the processor swap worked, this would be a free solution.

Any advice gratefully accepted!

I've used a 400 mh processor from a B/W in my beige desktop. Worked great.

Instructions for jumper setting are somewhere around here:

they are going to work stright across, unless it is an upgrade card. (one of the CPU upgrade cards had to have a diffrent Voltage control board inplace to not fry it)

So, final answer,
stock proc = good times
Upgrade = might want to check.
