Hey, my Flashed Asus v8200 doesn't work anymore, it shows video, but it has strange lines and yellow dots, and crashes X and 9 if not booted without extensions. I got it really cheap last year, and I was very pleased with it. Even, now I am using a spare ATI Rage Pro AGP, which works for now. But I really want something new and better (the card shipped in my machine GF2MX is sold).

Anybody know of good ATI PC cards or clones to flash ? I know some of them works great and others don't work at all. Just to bad it is hard to get a Radeon 8500 with 64MB here in Norway (only LE 128 here, which doesn't work ?, does 128 without LE work ?), and GF3 is even harder to find. And the mac stores in Norway are REALLY expensive. 500$ or so for a ATi Radeon 8500 for mac

Anyway, I need your help. I really want ATi, but a GF4 might be good as well, have they manged to flash the MX version ?

I tried to flash a PC agp GeForce4MX400 just recently without success. Someone may post the Apple ROM somewhere to patch these cards, but I haven't seen a working one around.

Good luck!

I found a store here in Norway that sold this card (3D Prophet FDX 8500 LE 64MB):

Is this a good card to flash ? It looks good, DDR ram and 250mhz.

Nice to get some fast feedback, I really miss gaming

It is a rareity that you can flash ATI cards. Yup good old ATI wouldn't want you to be able to use there cards any other way than the way you bought them...
