Hey, I have a iBook/12.1", 500Mhz, Not the clamshell one...
now I have a logic board thats from an iBook/12.1" and is 800mHz...do you think it will fit in the iBook, or is it a different fit?

No it will not fit. Different ports for one and different arangement of ports.. You could hack the hell out of your case but I wouldnt suggest that. You could check E-Bay for an ol shell for that logic board you got.

Ummm.. yes it should. I am not sure what that other guy is talking about. You really dont have much to lose by trying to replace it unless you have Applecare.
Make sure to get the service manual before you try and open it. It is both a pain in the @ss to open and quite delicate.

They're very close, but not the same.
The 500mhz one has a reset button the 800mhz lacks.

Also, the video port wiring is different, so the cables you used with the 500mhz for external monitors don't work the same on the 800mhz one.

So about the video wiring, it still uses the same wire inside right?
