i recently acquired one of these machines and i just overclocked this badboy to 500. i can't believe the difference that 50mhz makes!!! it is extremely odd that such a minor increase made such an improvement in speed. it is most noticable in the finder and multitasking.

imagine the boost I got overclocking from B/W 350 to 450Mhz.

And it is still running after two years!

I am kind of intimidated by this over clocking business.. is it easy to do?? I have a g3 400 and i bought the jumpers, I just never got around to doing it... do you think I should give it a shot? Or just wait a few weeks and get the 800mhz zif

you could probably get to 450mhz with no problems, but i don't think it is really worth it. i got my G3 for the healthy price of $0.00 so i felt i had nothing to lose. i leave it on for days on end and i have had no problems.
