Check with the drive compatibility list at xlr8yourmac. There's 30 reader reports on this drive you can read.

I had already checked. All the drives were used in tower macs, not with an imac in an enclosure.

what imac?
and what enclosure?
i have an imac 266 that i added an internal burner externally by getting a longer ide cable and splitting the power to the hardrive

it works

or are u just asking if the burner is compatible? cause if it works in a tower, then it is compatible
