I don't think you'll be able to get one from Apple, they only made the ones they give with the computers

maybe you could have one created from a shop...

don't online custom sticker places have high minimums numbers for a purchase? I would spend 5 bucks for one sticker, but i don't want to spend 20 bucks on 10 stickers or something like that.

Call around. Find a Certified Apple Repair Specialist/Reseller in your area. Head over to CompUSA and snoot around for the most reasonable associate, then get them to unleash the Apple goodies.

Once I got a handful of 8.5 balloons (uninflated), and a PC monitor adaptor.

You should check locally for a place that does computer-cut vinyl. Bring in an Illustrator file and they should be able to run something out pretty cheap.

Go to your local computer printer supplier that has labels. Buy a pack of clear labels.

Print out the apple logo of your color and choice (white excluded).

Trim with a scissors and, voila!

Those are nice, but:

"I am looking for a <1" wide sticker...."

Anyway, I ended up making a custom bumper sticker and paying www.makestickers.com $5 to print and send it to me. Here's a pic

Ohh, I thought you meant 8 1/2 balloons, not OS 8.5. That makes more sense...

Here's what I did. If you have an older Graphite G4 keyboard, there is a white Apple logo on the bottom of the keyboard. It's really a vinyl or plastic sticker. It's a label really with self adhesive tape holding it in a molded well. I used an Exacto blade and carefully slid it under an edge and with care and patience, you can peel it right off. It might not be the size you want. But unless you look under your keyboard, you'll not miss it.
