hey everyone,I got hold of a G4 667MHz cpu card from PowerMac. XPC7450 series. I want to put this in my Cube G4 but requires to change the bus speed to 100 instead of 133mhz. Also would like to overclock it to 700 or 800. I haven't found anything on xlr8yourmac.com, does anyone know a source with pictures to help me on this? Thanks.

You'd have to find the schimatic, I'm not sure where, but I know there is one (look on that japinese guys website, he might have one...) Basically set the muliplyer to 7 and the bus speed to 100, and you should have a 700mhz/100mhz bus .

I don't recall seeing a 667Mhz G4 card(outside of the Powerbooks). Is it an Apple card or an aftermarket card?
Perhaps it's already been overclocked?

It sounds like it should run on a 133 bus not a 100MHz bus.
(i.e.667/133=5x multiplier or 667/100=6.7x multiplier(???))

Apple released the 667MHz PowerMac.

They did it for a short while when the announced the 733MHz PowerMac, but nobody bought the 667.

Appparently they did

CubeME,
I still don't understand why you feel a 100MHz is needed instead of the 133 bus.

The G4 667 runs on a 133 bus with a 5x multiplier.

The G4 Cube has a 100MHz Bus. Just set the multiplier to whatever you want the speed to be and plug in the processor. I'd start with 6..5 to give you 650 MHz just to make sure everything works, then go UP from there as you see fit.

The CPU will run at a multiple of teh bus speed. You cannot change the bus speed with the CPU. The 667 CPU is set to run at 5x the bus speed. So if you put it un the cube unchanged it will run at 500MHz.
