I've recently acquired an old AppleIIe and plan on replacing a lot of it's parts, but I wish to keep the keyboard. If anyone knows what the name of the connector on the AppleIIe keyboard is, or if there is a <name of connector> to PS2 adapter, it would be greatly appriciated. If you don't know what connector I am talking about, here's a picture for you.

Are you trying to use a PS/2 keyboard with it, or use the A][ keyboard with a PS/2 connection?

Your ][e manual has an extremely detailed schematic of the entire computer in the back. The pinout for the kbd connector should be there.

If you upgrade to the IIgs, you can have ADB and all kinds of other goodies. The main logic board is smaller, too.

I think your chances of getting that keyboard to work on anything but an Apple II are between zero and nil.

FWIW, the mating connector is simply a two row header.

The thing is, that's not a standard keyboard, in our sense, as it doesn't have a standardized interface. It probably outputs raw ASCII, but getting that into PS/2 will require significant electronics, well beyond the scope of my electronics knowledge, alas!
