So, what could I do to mod my Powerbook? I am not too concerned with voiding warranties. I did not get Applecare.

Has anybody done anything cool to this machine?

I did a little painting with an iBook a while ago, and that is the extent of my Mac modding, except replacing fans in a MDD.

How about you make the trackpad glow? Probably impossible - but would look cool.

it shouldnt be impossible is the trackpad not just a thin sheet of plastic ontop of the receptors therefore if a transparent piece were to replace the origional piece... lights put underneath that give off a glow should do it?

I'd remove the outer cover of the display casing, paint the outside with a Biblical Eve-and-Snake scene with our beloved fruit appropriately... centered! A dappled piece of appropriately shaped green plastic under the Apple (or am I confusing things and they aren't translucent? Ya can paint outside then).

cdhostage: Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home isn't real, you know. They haven't really made transparent aluminium... and talking to your mouse doesn't work either.

PS. Don't touch the PB17, if it ain't broke, don't fix it...

Well, the obvious but not quite easy mod for any of the AluBooks would be to anodize it with a color. I think a lightly blue, red or green anodized AluBook (any size) would look awesome.

Until we get a 3 lbs sub-PowerBook, the 12-inch PowerBook will do.
