I've been told that the on-board ATA controller of a Blue&White G3 can't fully access a 160GB drive. The particular drive in question is a Maxtor Ultra/133 ATA.

I have a friend who can sell me a Sonnet Tempo ATA100 PCI card.

Will this card be compatible with this hard drive?

Running OS 8.6 currently.

The drivers would be a problem (OS9+X, not OS8) Otherwise I dont think so. You may want to email sonnet support for more info.
Hope this helps!

Would it possible to place the drive in an external FireWire case (one that supports >160 GB drives)?

Would that allow the Blue & White to see the entire drive?

I build EXTERNAL FW Drives and sell them on Ebay - they'll work fine with a Beige or a B/W

You shouldn't say that, then ppl will come after you. I live in Norway and do some money on flashing When ppl tell me how I do it, I won't tell (because I am expensive, haha). They are lazy to, so they don't bother to search Google, good for me.

hehe - I'm way too busy right now to build anything - I'm also a Contractor here in Florida (Painting & Drywall) and it's non-stop 7 days a week right now... Florida booms in the summer (won't be winter here till about January)...

Love building MAC goodies but no time
