Hi

I've got a B&W and I successfully flashed a PC Radeon 7000 32DDR with a Mac ROM. right now I'm using OS 9.2 because that's the only OS that will work with the ATI ROM update, but I'll be rebuilding the machine soon w/ OSX/OpenBSD. Just wanted to let you guys know.[/url]

The url above might not work in some browsers, although it is a no-brainer to remove the final dot:

Actually these flashed cards work fine in OSX, just like the real ATI models...

There are some issues with el Cheapo PC cards that display artifacts on the display, but there are modified roms available which use slower clock speed settings that address this.

These cards also work in older PCI powermacs running Ryan Rempel's XpostFacto software.

That caught my interest. How cheap are we talking? I have a B&W that I would like to upgrade but since it is not my primary computer I am not willing to spend that much anymore. Links to this info would be great.

thanks

Any chance of that procedure working on the 64MB 7500 PCI or 128MB 9000 PCI?

In any event, good job. Now we don't have to pay $300 for a 5-year-old 32MB video card.

I've flashed about 7 ATI PC Cards (32-meg PCI) for use with my MAC sales... all have worked fine with OS 10.2.6

I have an original Radeon MAC Edition and can't tell any difference.

Cards come from COMPUSA - $49.00 and [removed].

Providing instructions on flashing ROMs is against our Terms of Service and is a violation of ATI's EULA. I'm closing this thread by request of ATI.
